Your tasks on the position:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and all relevant regulatory requirements
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports for internal leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders
- Support the VP Finance on statutory filings and maintain strong communication with regulatory authorities and external auditors
Financial Operations & Planning
- Manage end-to-end financial operations, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Implement, maintain, and enhance internal financial controls and procedures
- Be responsible for preparations for annual audits
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns in compliance with Dutch tax laws
- Partner with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities
- Systems, Data & Process Optimization
- Serve as the functional lead for our migration from Exact Online to a new, scalable ERP system
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems and platforms
- Partner with our IT team to implement "Automation First" workflows, reducing manual entry through API integrations for bank feeds, expenses, and AP/AR
- Provide financial insights, scenario analyses, and data-driven recommendations to VPs and managers
- Act as a trusted advisor during our scale-up phase, supporting strategic and operational decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
- In-house/business environment experience (in scale-ups, SaaS, or high-growth tech environments is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and general statutory compliance requirements. Hands-on experience preparing and filing tax returns independently
- Excellent command of English (our main working language)
- High proficiency with financial systems and ERP software (Exact experience preferred)
- Strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving, and exceptional attention to detail
- Hands-on mindset and eagerness to continuously learn and adapt
- Comfortable working in a hybrid model, collaborating effectively with remote teammates
- You should feel comfortable working in a multicultural, English-speaking environment
Will be an advantage:
- Experience with Dutch accounting standards and tax regulations is a strong plus. The ability to learn is a must
